A Fine Weekend Indeed!

Every October, a group of friends gather along the chilly shores of the Yakima River in Central Washington. We make the journey in order to share stories, fishing, families, and general camaraderie. It’s hard to explain the event that has become known as “Burning Pram”. It can be best summed up as “The Greatest Night in Fly Fishing”. It’s an event that is “fueled by creativity and passion rather than $$$”.

Most importantly, this year’s event provided me with a much needed lifting of the spirits.

Below are a few selected images from the weekend. If you want to see more you can check out the 3D slide show here.

And for a couple of different perspectives,

Check out the wonderful photography on Dave's blog

And a short video from Paul

I'm already looking forward to next year.

Fall...

Fall. That word has many meanings as of late. You could use it to describe the stock market, the economy, or the season at hand.

Being in the car business, I am all too familiar with the fact that people tend to cut as much vehicle purchasing and maintenance out of their budget as possible when times get tough. Unfortunately, that fact has a profound effect on my budget. So much effect indeed, that a second job is likely in my future.

Speaking of which… I had a photo shoot the other day. It was the type of project that I will do for friends, but until recently I wasn’t very interested in pursuing this angle in order to gain income. Well, maybe spending some time doing senior photos is a way to make some extra money. Heck, who knows, maybe I’ll get good enough at it so that I can make some real money. I’ve got to do something. (It was actually kind of fun. Here’s a sample)

I’ve got a long weekend planned in a few days. I probably shouldn’t go, but I am sure that it will be my last outing for a while, so I’m going to do whatever I can to make the trip.

As hard as it is sometimes, I still try to make sure to look at the good side. At least my Blue Jay friend and I can take some time out of our day to observe the one type of fall that is enjoyable - the falling leaves of the Aspens outside my back door.

Ugh!

What a week…

A Saturday photo shoot 2 hours away in the valley.

Time spent in post processing.

A coworker at my day job taking unexpected time off.

An update to our server.

The reaction to the update.

Complications due to the update.

Meetings regarding a new corporate web site.

Research involved in constructing a new corporate web site.

The car is still in the shop.

My brain hurts.
